Vallee Lake – Another gorgeous opportunity wasted courtesy of a government that claims to love tourism as long as they do not have to spend a dime on it, so they can prop up their own projects south of Hope with our forestry dollars. The cost of putting in a decent campgrounds is minimal considering the return on investment. And along came another government agent, and erased more history. This lake was originally named after Frank Johnson. Vallee Lake is small lake of only 9.9ha

No more further assessments for the last 27 years, a bit appalling is it not?

Spoke to a landowner on this lake who said each year the lake suffers from winter-kill and there is no maintenace of the weed growth around the lake. Each year the lake is restocked with Fraser Valley Rainbow trout to suffer winter kill. Because the lake is shallow, the access to the lakeshore is now overgrown by dense water weeds (water lilly and other species) growing 10 m from the boat launch shore to open water. Fingerling fish show on the fish finder but none catchable. Salavation Army has a summer camp with good access to the lake. Perhaps that is why yearly stocking continues.
