Tyee Fish Count – Why did over 1/2 a million sockeye go missing?

Tyee Fish Count – Why did over 1/2 a million sockeye go missing?

Its been a while since we posted here, mostly because we heard lots of rumblings or rumors, but the ever growing number of people living along the Skeena asking where the hell is this massive sockeye run? Did a few nations take out 1/2 a million sockeye? From Terrace to Babine Lake first nations are complaining they could not find many sockeye, the Fence on Babine Lake with electronic counting also does not explain the missing sockeye.

Were the sockeye numbers fabricated?

The DFO claimed  1,625,199 sockeye were in the Skeena as of today’s date.

So it begs the question, where are the half million plus sockeye, also are the other salmon counts also in question of being fabricated numbers? Who is overseeing the count, if nobody is, that could explain the count, or the fish were heisted somewhere upstream above the Tyee Counting area.

Its wait and see, how they are going to explain this, or did the sockeye go on vacation somewhere between the Tyee Count and the Indians upstream?

2026 Totals 1,625,199
